What a wonderful and truly unexpected surprise it was to meet Baela Jamil in person!Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) !

As one of the pioneers of the movement for equitable education in Pakistan and a leading voice for women’s rights and social justice, her decades of dedication and advocacy have inspired countless individuals and organizations working to create a more inclusive and just society. It was a privilege to interact with someone whose vision and commitment have shaped the education sector and strengthened the discourse around rights and inclusion in Pakistan.

Our open forum conversation during the consultation on developing Minimum Standards for Menstrual Health in Emergency Response was exceptionally warm and encouraging. I was equally inspired by learning about the Menstrual Health Alliance and Advocacy Network’s successful advocacy for the removal of the Pink Tax and the collective efforts underway to advance menstrual justice.

From the platform of Frontier Women Alliance for Inclusive Development (FWAID), I am Grateful for this meaningful exchange and for the opportunity to be part of a growing movement committed to ensuring menstrual health, dignity, and rights are integrated into humanitarian and disaster response efforts.
